The hotel provided us with what we needed, a place to sleep during our six days of exploring the museums and sights of Paris. We got what we expected, it provides you with the basic, it`s clean and has recently been renovated. If you don't have the money to pay from 500 euros+, or even 2000 euros a night, I find that hotels like this make it possible to stay in Paris for a week or so. I always have problems with hotel beds, but here the bed to provided me with a good night`s sleep. I alway use earplugs, but the windows will have to be kept shut, and they are new and well insulated. The breakfast provides you with orange juice, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, croissants/pain au chocolate, baguette with butter and preserves (jam). You won't find a better price for a breakfast solution unless you are going for proteins. I found that the same amount of coffee and with two large cheese and ham-baguettes pluss two pain au chocolate cost around 17 euros at the nearest boulangerie = Breakfast for two people. The room is wonderfully equipped with electrical outlets for charging of phones and your other gadgets. You need to depend on the metro to get to the main sights of Paris. The Metro line 4 takes you directly to the Ile de la Cité or to the Latin Quarter in around 12-15 minutes. The area around Barbès-Rochechouart does not invite for a night life, and you would like to get away from the metro station as soon as you arrive there. The police are very present, but there is only so much they can do. Look out for pickpockets. However, the area is filled with people that aren't troublemakers, so you'd need to be out very late at night to risk any real danger, I think. Otherwise its short walk to the Carrousel de Montmartre and Sacre Coeur with the view over Paris, and Place du Tertre. From here walk the old streets like Rue Lepic and Rue Saint-Rustique.

Can't fault this hotel. The reception staff were so helpful and cheery. Nothing was too much trouble. Very clean and well run. Beds were made, towels changed and rooms cleaned daily. We didn't arrive back till 2am one night, so you have to press the bell for entry, as you hand the keys in every time you leave. Answered straight away, no issues. The room itself is sufficient for two people. Very clean, modern and cosy. Shower is always hot. WiFi is very strong and always on, no problems. I didn't know what to expect with some reviews, but honestly it should have more than a 1 star. Metro right outside pretty much to get to all the top sights. 20min walk to Moulin Rouge (the show was top drawer). Try Gigi's pizza or Sacree Fleur Steakhouse both about 10 min away on foot. You will not be disappointed! Also if you're an Indian lover try Le Maharaja, around 30 min walk from hotel, but 5 away from moulin rouge, so if you're planning on visiting that for the show or the strip, it's a good choice. All three very reasonable prices, belting food and excellent service. The closest thing you'll find to a full English, is at Barbes, pretty much opposite hotel. Again decent and free WiFi. Regarding the area being sketchy there is young lads trying sell stuff daily outside the metro station. Look rough n ready, but just walk past and politely decline. I never had any issues and we were out late most nights using Metro and rest on foot. Second time in Paris, but first at Angleterre. If we were visiting again we would book here instantly. Cheers James & Suzanne - Manchester

You can obviously see where it stands in the hierarchy of prices in Paris, so if you expect to pay this much and have a 4 star luxurious experience (like some of the reviewers I saw) that's on you! That being said, the room was very clean and cozy, as expected from pictures and the staff was super friendly. The hotel is right in the Montmartre neighborhood, 10-15 minute walk from Sacre Coeur, very close to the metro. Was easy to get around from there. It is on a back street so it was quiet while we stayed there, especially with the windows closed. There is a really nice old cinema in a historic building very close by, Le Luxor, we went there on a rainy morning, was great! you also have nice cafes for breakfast around.

The property was in an excellent location to access transport to all of Paris. The room was functional and clean and shower was excellent as was the fan as it was very hot. It was quiet at night as I can be disturbed and I slept well. The man on reception in the day was helpful and the young student on some of the nights absolutely lovely and helpful. Good TV in room but would be better if a smart tv you can link to your phone.

Dawn

the staff were all lovely. you do have to leave your key at reception every time you leave the hotel which feels quite uncomfortable, but with how nice the staff are it was quite reassuring. the location was good but the street it was on was a bit dodgy with some of the men who hang around there. make sure not to look at them for ages and you’ll be fine. hotel room and toilet was lovely and definetly a good value for money.
